Step Two In Our Home-Buying Process: Get Pre-Approved

Getting pre-approved by a lender is essential when preparing to purchase a home. Your Realtor will introduce you to their preferred lender who they highly trust. You have every right to speak to as many lenders as you would like before choosing the one who best meets your needs. What differentiates the best lenders from the others is their level of communication, timeliness, and availability. They are the ones who are willing to advise you through the entire process, from the moment you start thinking about buying a home to the years after you close! Their goal is not just to get you a loan, but to get the right loan for your family’s financial goals.

Why get pre-approved?

Getting pre-approved removes any doubts about what home price you can afford. This involves completing a loan application. The lender will run a credit report and will request financial documents such as paystubs, W-2s, 1099s, tax returns, and bank statements. The lender will make a determination as to how much you can borrow. A pre-approval letter will then be provided to you and your Realtor. In today’s market, sellers will not consider an offer without a pre-approval letter from a lender.
